Nominated, At Last!

I don't know if y'all have heard, but I am a Glammy Award nominee. Well, not me exactly. I suppose I should say that my alter ego, Lucky Charming, is a Glammy Award nominee. Yes, after nearly four years of blogging, I have still been passed up for Best Writer, yet Lucky swoops in, and after four months on the scene he snags a nomination for Best Burlesque. What gives?

Yes, people. By some curious trick of fate, Lucky Charming has fallen into a category with his mentor, Go-Go Harder, Burlesque Hall of Fame titleholders Tigger! and Dirty Martini, and the World Famous BOB, along with Stormy Leather, Essence Revealed, and Anna Evans, whom he has yet to meet but has heard wonderful tales of their fabulosity. One of these things is not like the others, but I am not about to turn down a chance for publicity.

Last night I went out to hear the nomination announcements at XL Nightclub in an attempt to do some shmoozing and make my presence known, but since they had already leaked my category prior to the shindig and everyone already knew who the nominees were, Lucky was left unannounced, much to my dismay. But I did have the chance to meet Cherry Jubilee face-to-face, and rub elbows with some other nightlife folks that I had only known via Facebook prior.

So it's not a Best Writer nomination, which was what I was really hoping for, but perhaps this can be my gateway for next year. And when you think about it, I have the same amount of nominations as Hedda Lettuce, Michael Musto, and XELLE, and when you put it that way, I sound fucking awesome.
