A Sneak Peek at Kink

Last night, thanks to an old colleague of mine, I was lucky enough to snag a spot in a tour of the San Francisco Armory. If this sounds boring to you, you are tragically mistaken, because the Armory is the current home of Kink.com. Now you're excited, aren't ya?

For those of you who aren't huge porn nerds like me, you should know that Kink.com is a collective of 26 different websites devoted to your extra filthy fantasies. Perhaps you've heard of Bound Gods? Naked Combat? Butt Machine Boys? Yup, that's all Kink.com. And I got to see their sets. Booyah.

Our first stop was the wrestling wring, where Naked Combat and Ultimate Surrender are filmed. That particular genre was never really my cup of tea, but I've definitely seen a few of the videos and being in that room most certainly got me feeling a little tingly in my happy places. Did you know they actually allow live audiences to watch during tapings? If I had known, I would have tried to book one while I was in town! I wonder if there's still time...

After that, our tour guide Jackie took us to the basement. Although the rugged, rundown scenery looks super sexy on film, most of the first half of the tour was not particularly camera-worthy. If you looked at my first dozen photos, you would think I was merely wandering an abandoned warehouse, which isn't that interesting at all. But we eventually came to a few spots where there were some very interesting props and sets laying around, and the excitement picked up very, very quickly. Cuffs, vibrators, torture devices, fucking machines...what's not to love?

The last stop on the tour was The Upper Floor, the grand Victorian-style space where the bourgier BDSM scenes take place. I recognized the sultry aesthetic from the big swinger scene in "Open Invitation". Not only is it a gorgeous porn set, but we were informed that real play parties are also hosted here for the big shot BDSM crowd in San Francisco. I can't imagine that I would ever qualify, but I definitely would not turn down an invitation to play in this space. Yum.


I don't want to give you any more details and risk taking someone else's job away, but if you're a porn fanatic and you find yourself in the Bay Area, I insist that you book an Armory Tour as soon as you possibly can. It's a great time, incredibly educational and fascinating, and will definitely leave you a little hot and bothered.
